I wonder if Evergreen Terrace is in Dallas.
So Stoopid George and his wife Laura are moving to Dallas, TX. Their new place will probably be a bit smaller. Anyways, some of his neighbours-to-be are a bit concerned.
[One] day after Mr. and Mrs. Bush announced their home purchase, cars full of gawkers clogged the narrow streets leading to the house. Traffic was so thick neighbors called police.
"I am afraid with all the negative press the president has been getting, the whole neighborhood is going to be a target," said a woman, who wouldn't give her name. She carried her King Charles spaniel Friday past the Bushes' new abode.
George W., like his dad, would probably get along with Ned Flanders. ("Fine and dandy! Like sugar candy.") But, unlike his dad, George W. would also get along with Homer. They like many of the same things (beer, television, football). And neither of them is particularly inclined towards intellectual pursuits. Homer would probably take George W. to Moe's.
Update: D'oh! I guess that Homer doesn't live in Stoopid George's neighbourhood-to-be after all. It was closed to non-whites until 2000.
Until 2000, the neighborhood association's covenant said only white people were allowed to live there, though an exception was made for servants.
Enacted in 1956, part of the original document reads: "Said property shall be used and occupied by white persons except those shall not prevent occupancy by domestic servants of different race or nationality in the employ of a tenant."
Homer (and family), as everyone knows, is not white. Actually, he looks kind of orange some days.
Meh. I was hoping that Duh-bya would be Bart's role model (underachiever and proud of it, man!) and that Lisa would piss GWB off.
