Paula will not be singing the "blink-blinks" with Becki Newton and Michael Urie. In fact, she won't be on the show at all. I am sad.
"Pauler" is in talks to guest star on "Ugly Betty." If she gets on the show, I might actually watch it. And her proposed character gets to hang around with Amanda...and Marc. I actually like Marc and Amanda (and Willy) far better than I like Betty. Wilhelmena is hilariously evil and a surprisingly complex character. Yes, she's a (hilariously) manipulative evil bitch, but the viewer can also see how she got that way and what potentially motivates her to do the things she does. As for Marc and Amanda, one senses that there is far more to them than shallow twitdom. (The episode where Marc came out to his mother was really good. And the episode this season where Amanda found out that Gene Simmons really wasn't her dad had a few touching moments.)
In comparison, Betty is just sanctimonious and boring. Maybe she is the "Jerry Seinfeld" of the series. Jerry was the least interesting character on "Seinfeld," but he brought the other characters together.
I know who could replace "Pauler" on American Idol! They'd even be more lucid than she is! (I'd also suggest Lord Thingy, but he would just insult everybody, and Simon already does that.) If Idol cans Krappy Kara, they'd have enough cash.
Wing & Lowe's favourite American Idol judge has announced that she is not returning to "Idol." Why couldn't it have been that no-talent hag Krappy Kara, or Stoopid Shill for Fox And/Or 19 Randy? Hopefully, this is all a publicity stunt (and Krappy Kara quits because people keep throwing rotten fruit and vegetables at her).
Meh. I need a drink.
Paula Abdul has a Twitter feed. She showed up at rehearsals for the Idols' summer tour the other day, and this is one of the things that she had to say:
speaking of last night...danny gokey and matt g. can really pole dance- who knew?! lol
about 23 hours ago from mobile web
I just got some disturbing visual images in my head. I hope that she meant that Hokey Gokey can dance with Polish people, or that he's good at Polish folk dancing.
I once told Bill that I really, really wanted to see Wing & Lowe in a reality show. This might be close enough.
Battle of the Blades will see teams of Canadian figure skaters and hockey stars matched to compete each week in an elimination-style challenge.
Although I'd still like to see what would happen if they went on tour with "Pauler." Maybe Disson Skating could give Pauler her own show - "Disson Skating Presents: Paula Abdul on Ice."
Entertainment Weekly presents "Pauler's" ramblings as free verse!
Example:
A Heads-Up To David's Bodyguard
David.
You are ridiculous.
I want to squish you,
squeeze your head off,
and dangle you from
my rear-view mirror.(Judging David Archuleta's season 7 performance of ''Imagine'')
Run, David, run!
In other news, I went to an ice show yesterday (Canada Ice Dance Theatre) and saw Wing & Lowe skate. I've never seen them skate live. They did one piece about a hockey sweater that ended with Aaron taking off one of his skates. (Huh?) Their second program was a tango to something that sounded like the Gotan Project. Sadly, they didn't interpret "Pauler" music. Now THAT would have been funny. (They should really skate a tango to "Tomo Y Obligo.")
"Pauler" obviously must have had one or more of what W & L were drinking. She cancelled appearances on the Today show twice. I like this part:
But one source said, "Please. She can't perform live. Her voice on the single is so mixed and electro nicized you don't know what she really sounds like any more."
You mean someone just found this out?
